The effects of physiological body nutrition during psoriasis treatment.

  Study result

Thanks to taking BioMarine®Medical in 5 weeks the clinical condition of psoriasis has improved in a patient who has been suffering from the disease for 13 years.

Nutritional intervention provided the body with the right amount of building substances (the right fats), thanks to which the body began to rebuild its defence and regenerative systems, which began to function properly.

  Study result

Using BioMarine®570 led to the improvement of the clinical condition of 76% of psoriatic patients. All of the patients additionally stressed the improvement in their general health (normalisation of arterial blood pressure and glucose levels in the case of type 2 diabetes, subsidence of itching).

This unique study proved that the human body has strong regenerative properties, but only when it is supplied with appropriate physiological building substances, including squalene and alkylglycerols.

  Study description

The study encompassed 25 patients. The participants were divided into two groups, depending on the type of illness:

TYPE 1 (juvenile) psoriasi
– 13 patients

TYPE 2 (adult) psoriasis: usually manifesting itself after the age of 40 years
– 12 patients:

Both groups of patients took, along with their standard medical therapy, 12 capsules of BioMarine®570 per day (i.e. 6 capsules of BioMarine®1140, which corresponds to 24 ml of BioMarine®Medical calculated on the squalene and alkylglycerol content) for a period of 4 months. Active external preparations were replaced with neutral ones (vaseline, products containing urea at a concentration below 3%)

Essential fatty acids (EFA) in alleviating the symptoms of psoriasis

The study encompassed 200 patients, randomly divided into two groups:

  • the control group (100 subjects), using paraffin topically and antihistamine drugs as needed for 3 months;
  • the study group, taking 1.8 g of essential fatty acids per day, antihistamine drugs as needed, and using paraffin topically for 3 months.

The treatment results were assessed on the basis of the Psoriasis Area Severity Index (PASI) and its particular components: the surface area affected by the skin lesions, and the intensification of erythema, scales and infiltration. Implemented as a complementary method to topical emollient treatment, nutritional intervention decreases the intensity of psoriatic symptoms, without causing any side effects.

Adil M., Singh P.K., Maheshwari K. Clinical evaluation of omega-3 fatty acids in psoriasis, Przegl Dermatol 2017, 104, 314–323

The role of inflammatory factors in psoriasis

As demonstrated by clinical trials, using essential fatty acids (EFA) EPA + DHA omega-3, which are contained in BioMarine®Medical, may contribute to the elimination of inflammatory conditions in the body. These substances are already active at the level of regulating the activity of genes, thereby allowing the body to better control the reactions related to the development and cessation of inflammatory processes.

An abnormal immune response that develops in a psoriatic patient leads to the formation of local inflammatory reactions, which manifest themselves through redness, papules, or psoriatic arthritis.

If the body is nourished with essential fatty acids (EFA) EPA + DHA omega-3, the synthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as PGE2, LTB4, IL-1, IL-6, TNF-ααdecreases, with a simultaneous increase in the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines, including IL-2 and TGFβ.

Essential fatty acids (EFA) EPA + DHA omega-3 are also transformed by the body’s cells into resolvins – RvE and RvD which strongly promote the termination of inflammatory processes.

Proper nutrition of the body with essential fatty acids (EFA) EPA + DHA omega-3 leads to the eradication of inflammatory processes and alleviation of psoriatic lesions.

La®Squalana – regeneration of psoriatic skin

Squalane (the saturated form of squalene) included in La®Squalana is the genetically required building substance of the skin. La®Squalana offers not only skin care but also revitalisation of its deepest layers. Providing the skin with vital structures makes it activate defence and regeneration mechanisms.

The characteristic symptom of psoriasis is skin eruptions of different size, covered with silver-grey scales formed as a result of excessive cornification of the skin.

Scientists from the Dermatological Department at the University of Seoul demonstrated the excellent skin care effects that can be achieved by supplementing our diet with high amounts of squalene.

Compared to the baseline, the following observations were made in all the subjects:

  • reduced wrinkles even by 30%;
  • increased skin collagen content by 130%;
  • reduced skin reddening by 36%.

herefore, using BioMarine® and La®Squalana, you fight against psoriasis in two different ways. You provide your body with substrates essential for the formation of compounds that regulate the functions of the immune system. You also support the functioning of the skin which activates regeneration and defence mechanisms as well as reinforces its protective barrier.

Physiological nutrition and skin care are essential in combating psoriasis.

  Source of the effect

The effects arising out of using BioCardine®Omega-3 and BioMarine® are produced physiologically by the body. This means that they cannot be achieved in any other way. For their production, the body needs to activate concrete physiological processes that require relevant substances. And hence the resulting effects are so significant and multi-directional. This translates into significantly greater strength of the body as well as better effectiveness in saving patients’ life and health.

Even more spectacular effects can be obtained through comprehensive action

BioMarine®Medical is a unique composition combining the potency of BioMarine®1140, BioCardine®Omega-3 and Tranu OLAVA® cod liver oil.

  • Liver oil from deep-sea sharks caught in the Tasman Sea (BioMarine®)
  • South Pacific Ocean sardine and anchovy muscle oil (BioCardine®Omega-3)
  • Norwegian Sea cod liver oils (Tran OLAVA®)

BioMarine®Medical is also the only source of such a physiological lipid (fat) profile for the human body.

BioMarine®Medical has been created out of concern for our clients who struggle with difficult diseases on a daily basis. Its fluid form is intended to make it possible for them to take the effective dose of building and regulatory substances.

  Unique composition of BioMarine®Medical

BioMarine®Medical is a unique nutritional product with such a wide range of indications – for dietary management simultaneously with the treatment of disorders in the physiological structure and function of the immune system, the haematopoietic system, the lymphatic system, the anti-inflammatory system, the liver and the bone marrow, the brain and the nervous system, the heart and the circulatory system, the eyes and the skin, the mucous membranes and the endothelium, as well as their consequences, including infections, cancers, RA, psoriasis, allergies, schizophrenia, and coronary heart disease.

The content of all building and regulatory lipids in BioMarine®Medical 5 ml of the liquid):

Special-purpose medical food should ALWAYS be noted down on a prescription

The immune system, the anti-inflammatory system, the hematopoietic system and the cell renewal system will be fully effective (physiologically) when they receive a scientifically engineered dose of BioMarine®Medical.

Dosage table

Unless your doctor or nutrition specialist recommends otherwise, BioMarine®Medical should be used as follows:

In parallel with the treatment of diseases in the acute phase:: cancer, infection, RA, psoriasis, recent stroke and heart attack, schizophrenia and depression,
take simultaneously while following a low-fat diet

FOR ADULTS:
0.8 – 1 ml of oil per kg of body weight per day
up to 6 months

FOR CHILDREN:
0.5 ml of oil per kg of body weight per day
up to 6 months

In parallel with the treatment of diseases in the chronic phase: cancer, RA, psoriasis, schizophrenia and depression, post infections and coronary events

FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN:
0.3 ml of oil per kg of body weight per day
indefinitely

In parallel with the diagnosis of disorders or diseases of: bone marrow and immune and hematopoietic systems, brain and nervous system, heart and circulatory system and inflammatory diseases

FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN:
0,12 ml of oil per kg of body weight per day
indefinitely

Based on the dosage table above, calculate what dose of BioMarine®Medical is currently needed by your body.

BioMarine®Medical should be taken 15-20 minutes before meal – this will ensure optimum absorption of the lipids contained in the product.

The daily dose of the product is usually taken in 2-3 portions. However, if you take greater amounts of BioMarine®Medical, you may divide your daily dose into more portions (even up to 8). An ideal solution is to use the product before each meal.

Fish oil is absorbed already through the oral mucosa. Therefore, before swallowing, it should be kept for a few seconds in the mouth – this way, the mucous membranes undergo direct physiological reconstruction and regeneration.

If the fish aftertaste is hard to accept, you may mix a portion of the oil with natural fruit juice (e.g. raspberry or cherry, but never with citrus fruits), eat is together with bread, or swallow with a small amount of boiled water or herbal tea.

  What is psoriasis?

Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin condition whose origins are not fully known.

Even though the causes of the disease include genetic factors, no gene has so far been discovered to be directly responsible for the disease. Some specialists support the view that it is an autoimmune disease, which means that, for an unknown reason, the body starts to attack and destroy its own tissues, probably due to improper functioning of T lymphocytes and cytokines.

In a healthy skin, the process of cell transformation (growth, maturation and death) lasts 26–28 days.

In psoriasis, the immune system sends earlier signals which shorten this process to approx. 4 days. New cells mature very quickly, whereas the old ones are too slow to exfoliate. Therefore, the epidermis of those affected becomes much thicker than in healthy individuals. The body becomes covered with a layer of dead cells in the form of hard scales.

This disease may lead to arthritis, and in extreme cases to invalidity.

The pathophysiology of psoriasis – the immune factor

Psoriasis is a disease in which a decisive role is played by the activation of the IL-12/Th1/IFN-γ and Th17/IL-23 axes. IL-12 is likely to act on the naive T lymphocytes and initiates the Th1 response, while IL-23 maintains the inflammatory reaction mediated by Th2, boosts the maturation and activity of Th17, as well as influences the maintenance of a proper pool of memory cells. There is also disturbed functioning of the Treg lymphocytes responsible for the destruction of autoreactive lymphocytes. Moreover, psoriatic keratinocytes have increased resistance to apoptosis, whose task is to eliminate damaged cells so that they are not identified as antigenically alien. However, researchers suggest that initially there is a polyclonal activation of T lymphocytes triggered by super-antigens (including protein M streptococci, peptidoglycan) or epidermal injury (Köbner phenomenon) and, at a later phase, the autoreactive T lymphocytes recognise the autoantigens (keratin 17, capsid proteins L1 HPV 5, Pso p27) in the epidermis, which leads to an autoimmune reaction.

The pathophysiology of psoriasis – the genetic factor

In the pathophysiology of psoriasis, similarly to other autoimmune diseases, emphasis is placed on the importance of genetic background. Currently, over 20 loci are known to be related to psoriasis vulnerability, e.g. 5q31 (also linked to RA, asthma and atopic dermatitis), 16q12 (also responsible for the development of psoriatic arthritis, lupus erythematosus and ulcerative enteritis) and 1p13 (additionally linked to type 1 diabetes, RA and Graves-Basedow disease).

  Cell revitalisation

Adequate amounts of physiological building and regulatory substances, such as alkylglycerols, squalene, EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids, as well as vitamins A and D3, are necessary for the physiological functioning of the cellular renewal system.

  Statistics

Psoriasis affects 2-4% of the population in Western countries. A large percentage of psoriatic patients experience a concomitant disease in the form of psoriatic arthritis. The incidence rate has been on the rise year by year. In Poland, this disease affects nearly 1 million people.

  Opinions

My bone marrow is damaged due to the treatment of psoriasis with methotrexate. This is related to thrombocytopaenia, kidney damage, and cirrhosis of the liver. My physician attempted to improve bone marrow production and regenerate my liver by prescribing me shock doses of BioMarine®1140 for 5 days and 6 for 6 months (6-8 capsules every day). The therapy should last 6 months on 8 capsules per day.

Maria, Toruń

I have been suffering from incurable psoriasis since 2011. My dermatologist recommended using the BioMarine®570 ointments, whose good composition helps me to properly immunise my body. Naturally, I am going to continue using your product, because I experienced great improvement.

Krystian, Kalisz

BioMarine was recommended to me by my dermatologist who treats my psoriasis. Using BioMarine®, I experience longer remission periods of the disease and milder course during relapses. I have been using the product for a few years, with regular 3-month intervals. I use 6 capsules per day in the autumn and spring.
